Welcome to the SMES 3rd grade historical fiction blog!

This blog contains the original work of the third grade class of St. Mary Elementary School. Their stories were created after learning about historical fiction and studying the story Peacebound Trains, by Haemi Balgassi, a 48-page historical fiction book based around the Korean War. After learning about the elements of historical fiction, students interviewed family members and friends about a historical event they lived through in order to come up with a background for their original pieces.
